Candle Flame
July 11, 2008 | indoor photographs
Hi. This isn’t Lorrie - It’s Josh, her fiance. I’m also interested in photography so I may be posting some on this blog as well. My first post is for two pictures I took today of a candle we had lit in the living room today.
The idea behind the first picture was to capture the dance of the flame. The second was taken later in the day when it was darker. I noticed this wild shadow that was being created by the flame and the empty soda bottle…
These photos were taken with the Canon Digital Rebel.

The 1600 ISO was because it was pretty dark and I didn’t want to use the flash of course as that would wash out the flame / shadow I was trying to capture. I also didn’t want a blurry image so I couldn’t make up for the lack of light with a slow shutter speed. I didn’t have a tripod handy but that would make for an interesting shot perhaps - with a slow shutter speed on a lower ISO.

I’m having some trouble with the layout of the blog - Will definitely have to fix that!
Maybe I won’t fix it. Oh well, it’s a little messy. Life is messy! ,.. ?
More Accurately: Maybe I CAN’T Fix It.
Actually, I did manage to kind of fix it. Yahoo! Pretty ghetto style, but it’s working.
